Techno Dread In 1992 when D moved to the Keys, Tony Nicholson and Asho Jeni were already on the Key West music scene performing as Techno Dread. Being Rasta, it was only natural that they would play together. Matthew Watson's drumming is a foundation of rock. D's rhythm and percussion complete the spell. These three worked as the house band for the Oak Beach Inn, Key West FL. Jah Vybez Local reggae DJ Jahson formed Jah Vybez as a non commercial, positive livity. With drummers Ade and Efumlade from the Oyotunji African Village involved the music is very nice! Famey's vocals are authentic Roots. D is more than happy to add his thing to this conscious party. Maasai When Abdul Mateen is in town the area's best reggae musicians come together to back him. Original music is always supported in Key West (it's so rare) and Maasai is that breath of fresh air. Abdul and D's Nyabinghi (hand drum) session is always the highlight of the show. These two are old friends and have much in common having both come out of the New England reggae scene. |
